New Entrant Training (NET)

One of the objectives of the industry is to recruit and train young people into the roofing industry and provide them with the foundation for an exciting, rewarding and successful career.

College Courses are based on a programme combining site work spent with a roofing company, training at the college and ongoing assessment.

Apprenticeships allow young employees to learn, work and get qualified all at the same time. It's a simple step by step process where colleges can guide both apprentices and employers.

Currently, in the North West, the apprenticeship training programme is offered in Roof Slating and Tiling in the purpose-built Roofing Centre at Bolton Community College. (Please see section CRAFT TRAINING FOR MORE DETAILS OF BOLTON COLLEGE) Training in other roofing disciplines can be offered outside the Region.

It is possible for an individual to apply on-line for a Construction Apprenticeship @ www.bconstructive.co.uk

Employers looking to recruit apprentices can contact James.Johnson@cskills.org where they can obtain full details, or, if you are not sure, please make contact with us using the link below.
